ANTHONY OKOCHU ESQ

Anthony Okochu is a Nigerian from Oshimilli North Local Government Area, of Delta State, born into a family of nine (9) of the 25th of October 1979, in Lawasi, Surulere, Lagos State, Nigeria.I am a Christian of the Catholic faith and had my primary education at Army Children’s school, Effurun, Delta State. My Secondary Education was at Edo College, Benin City, Edo State, from where I graduated in 1993.I began my tertiary education at the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State in 1995, from where I obtained a National Diploma in Social work, with a Credit and was later to proceed on Direct Entry admission into the same University of Benin to Study Law, in 1999. I graduated from the faculty of Law with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) in the year 2004, with Second Class Honours. I also bagged the BL Degree from the Nigerian Law School in Lagos, in February 2007 and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, on the 10th day of May 2007. I was sponsored to the Nigeria Bar by no other two eminent personalities than the Honourable Justice Rosemary Ukeje (Mrs.), former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria and Chief Idowu Sofola, SAN.I served my Country meritoriously under the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) from March 2007 to February 2008, in Lokoja, Kogi State, where I worked with the Law firm of Umaru Usman & Co., the law firm, where I cut my teeth in legal practice, with my very first Court Appearance before the Honourable Justice  Olateru Olagbegi (Mrs.) the Honourable Chief Judge of Ondo State and was later to make two separate personal Court of Appeal Appearance at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, one of which was before the Honourable Justice Farouk Umar Abdullahi, immediate past president of the Court of Appeal, Nigeria.As a Corps Member, I was also as active member of the Legal Aid Clinic, the Community Development Group for Corps Members who are Lawyers and in that capacity, I took active part in a number of Prison Decongestion exercises at the Koton Karfe Prisons, Kogi State.I presently am Counsel, honoured to be leading the Intellectual Property Department of the law firm of Agabi, Shinaba, Ogon & Co. with a burning desire to constantly add value to myself and of course, the firm.I would described myself as quite hardworking, focused and a dreamer, but one who likes to work his dreams to fruition. I am a patriotic Nigerian with undying love for Country and hope to see an attitudinal change in the polity, especially amongst our teeming youths, as it is always said that we shall one day lead the Nation.I believe in the tenets of honesty, loyalty, integrity and most of all, the fear of the Almighty God, the maker of all things.
