- EDWARD ETA OGON, born on the 17th day of February 1963, attended Calabar Preparatory School, Hawkins Road, Calabar, Maryknoll Secondary School, Ogoja; Ratcliffe College, Syston Leicester, England, U. K., the University of Kent at Canterbury, U.K and the Nigeria Law School. He was called to Nigerian Bar in 1987 and started practice as Junior Counsel in the firm of Rhodes and Rhodes before joining Allan & Ogunkeye. Mr. Ogon served as a Director in several Boards, including the Poverty Reduction Agency of Cross River State. He was the Honourable Member of the Federal House of Representatives for Boki and Ikom Constituency from May 2003 – May 2007, Commissioner for Works, Cross River State from June 2007 to June 2008 and Attorney General, Commissioner for Justice from July 2008 to date.
- MR. EKPE OKU ASUQUO, Mr. Asuquo graduated from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus with (LL.B Hons.) in 1983.
He attended the Nigerian Law School in the course of which he did his law attachment with Kehinde Sofola & Co. and was called to the Bar in 1984. He commenced Legal Practice as a State Counsel with Lagos State Ministry of Justice for one year and then joined the Firm of Coker & Coker as a Junior Counsel where spent three (3) years. In 1988 he moved to the Firm of Allan & Ogunkeye which specializes in Intellectual Property Law and rose to be a Senior Associate in 1991, when he left to set up the firm of Asuquo & Asuquo as its Principal Partner.
Mr. Asuquo has been engaged in active Legal Practice for over 26 years spanning the full range of Commercial Law and Intellectual Practice involving both trial and appellate litigation. Apart from litigation he has also been involved as a Transactional Solicitor in the N2.4billion Cross River Obudu Tourism Development Bond as Solicitors the Trustee and other high level transactions.
- MGBEREOMA ODUENYI WAYO, Nee Amadi-Obi (Roma for short) is a Barrister and Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Nigeria who was called to the Nigerian Bar in the year 1999. She is currently a Notary Public and a Capital Market Consultant (Compliance Officer) registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Roma worked with the firm of Messrs. Kehinde Sofola & Co. for a few years before joining the firm of Shinaba, Ogon & Co. where she is currently a Partner. She has extreme experience in all aspects of Litigation and Corporate practice. Roma has engaged in litigating various matters covering several areas of law at all levels of courts in Nigeria and has rendered legal advice on most aspects of Intellectual Property matters as well as in other areas of Commercial Law.
In the course of her practice, she has advised on major transactions such as due diligence in respect of the merger between former Citizens International Bank and Guardian Express Bank Plc, ACB International Bank Plc, Omega Bank Plc, Fountain Trust Bank Plc, Trans International Bank Plc. She also worked in the team of the Solicitors to the issue in the Cross River State Government Bond Issue.
She has worked as an External Solicitor to Insurance Companies such as UNIC Insurance Plc; Banks such as Union Bank of Nigeria, GT Bank, Telecommunication companies, e.g. MTN Nigeria Ltd. at various times.
She is also engaged in other legal works which include the provision of Legal and Advisory Services on matters of Board and Shareholders’ Meetings, Filing of requisite Returns at the relevant Regulatory Agencies and Social Responsibility issues and general prosecution of Trademarks, Patents and Designs, etc.
Roma is also involved actively in several religious, professional and social organizations. She is a Member of FIDA (Federation of International Women Lawyers); Member, INTA (International Trademark Association) where she is currently serving in the Design Committee and had earlier worked in the Pro Bono Committee. She was the Secretary to the Chaplaincy Pastoral Council of St Thomas More Catholic Church, University of Lagos, Akoka and currently is the Secretary to the Chaplaincy Laity Council of the same Chaplaincy. She is a Member, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and also an accredited member of the Corporate Affairs Commission, etc.
